Facilities
The department of chemistry is housed in the newly constructed Sampson Hoffland Laboratories Building which will be completed in August of 2008. This building is a modern, well-equipped facility with ample laboratory space and an impressive array of instruments for instruction and research. Luther Chemistry students learn to operate modern research-grade instruments, including the atomic absorption spectrometer, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, ultraviolet and visible spectrometers, gas chromatographs, high performance liquid chromatograph, spectrofluorimeter, and lasers.
Also located in Sampson Hoffland Laboratories Building is the department of Biology as well generous amounts of student study space.
